Jess Devaney is a narrative strategist and founding Executive Producer at Perspective Films, a documentary impact studio advancing artistically ambitious nonfiction films at the intersection of culture and systems-level change. Building on more than a decade as  Founder and President of Multitude Films, their work blends storytelling precision with political relevance to build power and expand public imagination.

As a filmmaker, Jess has produced and executive-produced more than two dozen documentaries exploring the central issues shaping our world today, including disability justice and trans liberation, policing and the carceral system, Indigenous sovereignty and racial justice, democratic health and economic inequality. Notable films include the four-time Emmy-nominated LIFE AFTER (PBS 2025), Netflix Original POWER (Sundance 2024), the Emmy-winning LOWNDES COUNTY AND THE ROAD TO BLACK POWER (Peacock/MSNBC), Oscar-shortlisted HOW WE GET FREE (HBO), GLAAD Awards-nominated Netflix Original PRAY AWAY, Livingston Award-winning THE FEELING OF BEING WATCHED (PBS), and Vera Institute of Justice-winning ALWAYS IN SEASON. 

Jess's contributions have been recognized by the Sundance Institute Nonfiction Producers Award, the Cinereach Producers Award, Doc10's inaugural Vanguard Award, and eight Social Impact Media Awards, among others. Before founding Multitude, Jess was Director of Communications at Just Vision, a nonprofit that fills the media gap on Israel-Palestine independent storytelling, journalism, and audience engagement. 

Jess lives in Philadelphia with their partner, Jules, and a small menagerie of pets and plants.
